About me

Hello, my name is Cesare and I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor, Mindfulness Teacher and Clinical Supervisor. What this means is that I have training and experience in a number of approaches that enables me to meet the needs of my clients in a flexible and effective way, have a specialism in mindfulness and its applications in mental health and personal well-being and support other therapists in the work they do with their clients.

I am insured and abide by the values, principles and ethics of the professional body I am a registered member of, the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), the largest professional organisation representing Counselling and Psychotherapy in the United Kingdom. I also engage in continual professional development and have regular supervision so that I can support my clients in the most effective ways possible.

I mainly work with adults and enjoy doing so with people from all backgrounds and orientations. I believe that all humans appreciate understanding, kindness and connection and wish to avoid suffering and move towards greater well-being. And even if we do not always know how or have the supportive conditions to help us do so, when those conditions are put in place, then movement towards greater well-being will naturally occur. A supportive therapeutic relationship can contribute significantly towards this happening.

Training

I completed my Diploma in Integrative Counselling with Inter-Psyche Training Institute, which is part of the Kent and Medway NHS Social Care Partnership Trust. It was fully Accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), the largest professional organisation which represents Counselling and Psychotherapy in the United Kingdom. The Diploma had a Humanistic, Person Centred, Relational base and also gave consideration to Psychodynamic, Cognitive and Existential models, providing me with the flexibility to draw on a number of theories and approaches best suited to my client's needs.

I am a registered Mindfulness and Compassion Teacher with the British Association for Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA), having trained to teach with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and other well known mindfulness training organisations. I have extensive experience in the practice and teaching of Mindfulness and Compassion based approaches in the public, private and third sectors, which can help people meet a range of difficulties, including stress, anxiety and depression for example, with more insight and compassion.

I have a Diploma in Individual and Group Clinical Supervision and a Certificate in Mindfulness Supervision, which means I also help support other therapists and mindfulness teachers in their work.

Experience

I have been training and working in the field since 2012 and currently work as a counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor in full time private practice. I have experience working as a Counsellor with students in a FE College and in drug and alcohol services within HM’s Prisons, where I became familiar with 12 Step work associated with the Fellowships. Prior to this I worked in the field of education, training and employability skills with adults and as a secondary school teacher.

I also deliver Mindfulness, Compassion and mental health courses, workshops and training for individuals, groups and organisations and am an Associate Teacher at Tenterden Mindfulness Group, delivering mindfulness courses for GPs and NHS Primary Care Staff.  And am a co-founder of and a Mindful Running Coach at RUN:ZEN, which integrates the benefits of mindfulness and running for greater all round well-being

This mindfulness specialism builds upon my long-term interest and practice of mindfulness, which has been under the direction of world renowned meditation teachers since 2008. It enhances my professional tool kit as a therapist by allowing me to bring elements of Mindfulness into my work where it serves clients, adding a dimension to my practice that isn't always found in other approaches.

Having worked with both male and female teenagers and adults within prisons, colleges and in private practice over the years, I have experience with a number of problems and difficulties including, but not exclusively, those that relate to:

  • Depression

  • Feeling Sad
